99 Nights in the Forest Best Classes and Late Survival

October 30, 2026 · 5 min read

On this page

Lumberjack at 70 Diamonds is All Things How's safest pick, and Cyborg at 600 Diamonds is the class Pocket Tactics says many players rate highest. In a team, we think one cheap Medic and one fighter add more than five copies of the same class. Getting past the early nights depends as much on who keeps the fire fed as on your class.

The Roblox page says very little about classes, so everything here comes from outlets and fan summaries of the wiki. Rankings are opinions, and classes change. Check the in-game store for current perks and prices.

Three lists that disagree

No two writers agree, and it shows how much depends on solo versus team play.

Class Cost Pocket Tactics (Apr 2026) All Things How (Jul 2026) RBLX Guide (May 2026)
Cyborg 600 S+ S A
Vampire 600 S+ S B
Necromancer 600 S+ S Not listed
Lumberjack 70 B S B
Fire Bandit 200 S S Not listed
Assassin 500 S B S
Beastmaster 400 S A A
Medic 40 B D S
Berserker 100 B F S
Brawler 100 A B A
Ranger 70 B C A

What this tells you:

  • Cyborg is the closest thing to agreement. It starts with alien armor and a laser cannon. Its weakness is that overheating hurts you and lowers your armor for a while, per Pocket Tactics.
  • Medic and Berserker split the critics. All Things How marks them down because Medic's value is team-only and Berserker rewards taking damage. RBLX Guide likes them for keeping a run alive.
  • Lumberjack's case is simple. All Things How argues wood drives walls, traps and upgrades through the whole run.

What to buy with few Diamonds

Diamonds Class Why
25 Scavenger +2 sack space, 20% faster chests at level two
40 Medic Revives five times faster, for team play
50 Fisherman All Things How rates it for endless food and scrap
70 Lumberjack Good axe, 20% chance of a bonus log
70 Ranger Revolver and 18 ammo from the start
80 Explorer +2 sack space, compass, map, less hunger drain far from camp
100 Alien Raygun, a cheaper route to alien tech
200 Fire Bandit Infernal crossbow and Wildfire potion

Explorer's value is disputed too. RBLX Guide calls it great value, while All Things How says its buffs are negligible. Prices come from guides dated April to July 2026, and the wiki-based count has grown to 39 permanent classes since, so some classes may not appear here.

Three shop facts save Diamonds.

  • The General Store sells a random selection that rotates every 24 hours. You get one free reroll a day, then rerolls cost 99 Robux.
  • A class you want may not be in stock today, so do not spend on a filler while waiting for your target if the wait is short.
  • Talents add perks from other classes for 60 Diamonds to unlock and 30 to reroll. Lower-star class perks are more likely to roll, per Pocket Tactics. Fill out your classes first.

Leveling your class is real progress

Each class has three levels, and level two and three perks are often the good part. Examples from Pocket Tactics:

  • Lumberjack: cut 200 trees and plant 75 saplings for level two. Level three needs 500 trees and 200 saplings.
  • Medic: find 30 medical supplies and revive 25 players for level two, which makes revives restore more health and hunger.
  • Cyborg: kills restore alien tech energy at level three, which helps with the overheating problem.

Pick one class and play it toward those goals. Every run then pays off even if you die early.

Team setups

RBLX Guide suggests four jobs. It is one writer's plan, from April 2026, but the logic is sound.

Job Who it suits What they do
Medic Medic, Berserker Revive and stay near the group
Scout Explorer, Scavenger Open chests and bring supplies home
Fighter Assassin, Brawler, Ranger Handle Cultists and animals
Base Lumberjack, Farmer, Chef Fuel, food and crafting

For two players, try Medic with Berserker. For three, try Medic, a fighter and Explorer. In a solo run, skip anything that depends on teammates. All Things How says Medic and Support collapse alone, and Chef falls off. Bear in mind that Brawler cannot use ranged weapons, so it needs a good melee weapon.

Habits that carry you to later nights

Name a fire keeper. The fuel is shared. Give one player the job of checking it before anyone leaves, and have them back before dark.

Do not fight The Deer. RBLX Guide's May 2026 page says no weapon can damage it, that it will not enter the safe zone while the fire burns, and that its walk speed of 35 is faster than a default sprint. It also says a flashlight stuns it for 1 to 2 seconds. Single source, so treat the numbers as rough, but the habit holds. Keep a flashlight ready at night and use the stun to turn, not to stand and watch.

Fight Cultists from range. During raids, keep one player near the campfire and shoot before they reach camp, as RBLX Guide suggests. Ranger, Big Game Hunter and Alien all bring a gun from the start.

Read Campfire Flames before you place them. Some trigger alien, frog or meteor events on day or night 3. The Blue Hot Flame is described as the plain defensive option, reducing weather effects.

Avoid the Caverns at night. The same source warns of The Bat, listed as unkillable, down there. Do not treat caves as a hideout.

Do not keep feeding a losing run. RBLX Guide notes that one player dying over and over wastes the whole team's resources. If that is you, stay closer to camp and take the fuel or food job for a while.

Aim for the 50-night mark. One June 2026 guide says surviving 50 nights pays a partial Diamond bonus, with a bigger one at 99. We have that from one source only, so check your reward screen. If it holds, it is the best early target for buying your next class.

Halloween notes

The latest update listed in fan summaries is Helping Happy, dated October 3, 2026. Happy the Halloween Guy has been taken apart by The Ram, and players rebuild him. Webs spawn around the map and can only be cleared with Happy's Scythe, which waits at the campfire. Webs can hold loot, but also enemies such as Cultists and Scorpions, so clear them when you are healthy, not when your hunger is low.

Witch is a Halloween-only class listed at 900 Candies by All Things How. It has been an event class in past years, and we could not confirm whether it is on sale right now. Event classes leave when the event ends, so check the event shop soon if you want it.
