Adopt Me Trading Values Basics and How to Make Neon Pets

October 30, 2026 · 5 min read

On this page

Adopt Me has no official value list. A pet is worth what other players will give for it, and that changes over time. To make a Neon, combine four matching Full Grown pets in the Neon Cave. The fastest way to get there is to raise all four in your Pet Pen while you use Age-Up Potions on the stages that are left.

Live trading values are not listed here on purpose. Any fixed number goes out of date quickly, and we could not verify a trustworthy one. The rules below come from Uplift Games wherever we could confirm them.

What sets a pet's trade value

Uplift Games says the Trading Hub blocks very uneven trades only to cut down on spam. In its own words, this "isn't intended to create a genuine value system." So getting past that check, or getting no warning in a trade, doesn't prove you got a fair deal.

These are the things to compare. This list is our general advice, not an official formula.

Factor Why it matters
Rarity Rarer pets are usually harder to get
Availability A pet from an old egg or event can't be hatched as easily any more
Neon or Mega Neon One Neon uses 4 pets, and one Mega Neon uses 16
Fly and Ride Many players want these, so check that both sides show them
Age A pet's stage takes real time to raise
Demand The part you can't calculate. It is how many players want it right now

Don't use the 4 and 16 as a fixed exchange rate. They show the cost of making the pet, but a Neon might trade above or below that depending on demand. Popular pets can be worth much more than a less popular pet of the same rarity.

How to check an offer

  1. Search the Trading Hub. Talk to Robo Rob and look for listings of the pet you own. Then look for what people want in return. Real offers tell you more than a chart does.
  2. Compare several offers. One high offer can be a mistake. Several similar ones are a much better sign.
  3. Check the fine details. Look for Neon or Mega Neon, Fly and Ride on both sides.
  4. Be careful with community value sites. They are opinions and can disagree. Some of them also sell pets, so never buy from one or pay anyone outside the game.
  5. Slow down. If an offer feels good only because someone is rushing you, wait.

Using the Trading Hub well

The Hub needs a free Trading Phone from the Guide after two hours of play, a Trade License from the Safety Hub, and your first Neon pet. So a Neon is now also your ticket to cross-server trading.

  • Listings cost Bucks. Each one costs 100 Bucks, and you can have two active. Don't list pets on a guess, because a change of mind can cost you again.
  • Listed pets are locked. You can't equip, change or trade them until you remove the listing or offer. This also applies to offers you make.
  • Editing needs a visit. The phone shows listings, offers and history from a normal server, but you must return to the Hub to change or add listings.
  • You can skip the paid slot. An extra listing costs 49 Robux and doesn't guarantee a trade.

Trade scams and the rules

Uplift Games is clear on this: it does not give back pets you trade away. Support also says it doesn't help with hacks or scams, and tells players to report these trades using the Trade License in-game.

  • Only trust the trade window. Never give a pet first in exchange for a promise. Trust trades lose pets.
  • Read the final screen. Uplift's 2020 notes say the second stage is where you decide if the trade is fair. A warning is worth taking seriously, but no warning doesn't mean the trade is good.
  • Cross trades and Robux trades are banned. Uplift says they break the Adopt Me and Roblox terms and may lead to a permanent ban. That includes trading pets for items in another game or for real money.
  • Don't trade pets for Bucks. Uplift says the game doesn't support this kind of trade, and it will most likely end in a scam.
  • Check for fake staff. Uplift said in 2020 that real team members and influencers have special badges, so check for them if someone claims to be official.

You can find 30 days of trade history in the Trade License, which is also where you report a scammer. That detail comes from a 2020 post, so check how it works now.

Raising four pets faster

These aging numbers come from The Click's summary of Uplift's updated chart. Check your own pet for its current progress.

Rarity Potions per pet from Newborn Potions for four pets
Common 1 4
Uncommon 2 8
Rare 2 8
Ultra Rare 4 16
Legendary 7 28

A Common needs 25 Needs to reach Full Grown, and a Legendary needs 183. Four Legendaries take 732 Needs in total.

Here is the efficient routine:

  1. Use the Pet Pen for all four. Every house has one. It ages up to 4 pets at 8 Needs an hour while you are online and 2 an hour while offline. Neon pets can age there too.
  2. Visit after each stage. Pets can only gain one full stage in the Pen before you need to see them. Leaving them for days wastes time.
  3. Earn potions with your Full Grown pet. Each Friendship Level takes 30 Needs and gives one Age-Up Potion worth 3,000 XP, which equals 30 Needs. It can be fed to a different pet.
  4. Save potions for higher rarities. One potion covers a whole Common, so a Legendary needs many more. Spend your potions where you are short of time. Note that potions can't be traded.

Neon details people miss

  • Locked pets can't be used. If a pet is missing from the Cave's selection window, check that it is Full Grown, not locked in your Backpack, and not in a Trading Hub offer.
  • Finish a Friendship Level first. Completed levels from the four pets are added together in the Neon, but progress in an unfinished level is lost. If a pet is close, complete those last Needs before you merge.
  • Untradeable pets stay untradeable. Since May 2026, the Cave accepts them, but the Neon won't be tradeable. Read the warning, and use tradeable pets if you plan to trade.
  • Keep a spare if you care. The four pets are used up, so raise a fifth if you still want a normal one.
