Brookhaven RP Beginner Guide to Houses, Cars and Jobs

Brookhaven RP is a roleplay game with no levels, quests, enemies or winning screen. You pick a house, a car and a job, then make up your own story with other players. Nearly everything is free from your first minute, so you never need to grind before you can start having fun.
The game's official Roblox page calls it a place to play and roleplay with like-minded people. It is made by Voldex.
Your first 10 minutes
- Open the Houses menu and claim a home.
- Open the Vehicles menu and spawn a car.
- Open the Jobs menu and pick a role.
- Open the Avatar Editor and change your outfit to match the role.
- Drive around and find a scene to join.
The icons for these menus sit on the side or bottom of your screen. Guides describe the layout differently, and updates can move things, so look for a house, car, and avatar icon rather than a set position.
Controls
| Action | PC | Mobile |
|---|---|---|
| Move | WASD or arrow keys | On-screen joystick |
| Jump, or leave a normal car | Space | Jump button |
| Get in a vehicle | Follow the on-screen prompt (usually F or E) | Tap the on-screen button |
| Drive a car | W/S for speed, A/D to steer | On-screen controls |
| Fly a helicopter or jet | Q raises throttle, E lowers it | On-screen controls |
Console players use the left stick to move and the jump button to jump and leave a car.
Picking a house
Choose a plot marked as vacant in the Houses menu and claim it. You can hold one property at a time, but you can change homes whenever you like. If every plot is taken, try an apartment or motel room, or join another server.
Once you have a house, you can decorate it with the furniture, wallpaper and flooring menus. You do not need to pay for interior changes.
Saving your work: do not assume your decorating will stay when you leave a public server. One guide says homes need a manual save, and another says props reset when you leave a public server. If you spend a long time on a build, look for a save option before you go. The official Roblox page lists prop saving as a private server benefit.
Some homes have secret features, so explore yours before you move on. Look behind bookshelves, TVs and odd-looking wall panels.
Getting around
The Vehicles menu includes cars, trucks, motorcycles, bikes and more. Most are free. Some boats and permanent aircraft need passes.
- Vehicles appear next to you, so stand in an open area first.
- You do not need a police or fire job to use basic emergency vehicles.
- Emergency vehicles have siren and light controls.
- The subway serves Crown Pointe, Downtown, Blackhawk and Lake Madison, which is handy for a roleplay commute.
Jobs are for roleplay
Jobs do not pay you. There is no money to earn in the usual sense. A job simply gives your character a reason to be somewhere and gives you the matching tools. You can be a doctor, police officer, firefighter, teacher, chef or many other things, hold one job at a time, and quit when you get bored.
Good starter scenes:
- Family: claim a house and invite people to be parents and kids.
- School: be a teacher or student at the school.
- Emergency: be a firefighter or police officer and respond to what other players are doing.
- Business: run a shop or restaurant and greet customers.
How to join other players
The biggest beginner mistake is to run into someone's scene and disrupt it. These habits make people want to play with you:
- Watch for a moment to see what is happening.
- Join in a role that fits. If someone runs a restaurant, walk in as a customer or ask to be a waiter.
- Look for people asking for players in chat, then ask politely.
- Stay in character. If you need to say something as yourself, mark it as out of character (OOC).
- Accept a "no" and move along. Plenty of other scenes are running.
If your server is quiet, join another public server. Activity varies by time of day.
Secrets worth finding
Finding hidden places is one of the best ways to get better at the game, since it gives you new locations for stories. A guide from April 2026 lists these, though updates can change them:
- Agency bunker: to the right of the gas station. Click the wall panel to open the door.
- Hospital X-ray room: behind the skeleton picture on the wall. Broken walls on the upper floor lead to an abandoned area.
- Underground house: click the orange or yellow button behind the TV to open a vault door.
- Summer camp cabin: jump up into the bathroom ceiling to reach an attic.
- Developer signatures: look under the yacht and in Rosie's Gym on the mall's upper floor.
Do you need Robux?
No. Free houses, cars and jobs cover most of what you will want to do. Game passes add premium homes, extra vehicles and faster speeds. One guide listed these prices in 2026, but check the in-game store before you buy.
| Pass | Reported Robux price | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Speed Pass | 70 | Higher vehicle top speed |
| Penthouse Pass | 150 | Luxury apartments |
| Premium Pass | 275 | Premium homes and exclusive vehicles |
| Estates Pass | 799 | Mansion-tier homes |
Play for a week before you decide on anything. If you do buy, only use the official in-game store. Sites that promise free Robux or cheap items are scams, and using them can put your account at risk.
Playing with friends
Use Join Experience on a friend's Roblox profile, if their settings allow it. Private servers are optional and renew monthly. Their official benefits include prop saving, server-wide music and announcements, and tools to kick or temporarily ban players, which makes them useful when you want to play without strangers. Guides disagree on the cost, so check the price on the game's page.
Staying safe
Roleplay is pretend, so keep your real name, school, address and passwords out of it. If someone makes you uncomfortable, leave the scene or change servers. Use the report tool for anything inappropriate. It is always fine to say no to a scene you do not want to be part of.
