Dandy's World Beginner Guide

Your job each floor is to fill machines, stay away from Twisteds, and get back to the elevator. Every machine you fill alone pays 5 Ichor, and Ichor buys everything that lasts between runs. Save your first Ichor for a useful 200 Ichor Trinket or a cheap Toon, and do not worry about high floors yet.
Dandy's World is a mascot horror survival game by BlushCrunch Studio. The Roblox page warns that it is still in Alpha and may include bright or flashing lights. Version at time of writing is Alpha 0.29.10, dated October 23, 2026, so numbers can change.
Most numbers below come from a site that copies the fan wiki's tables. Items marked as older come from a May 2026 guide, so check them in game.
How a run works
- Pick a Toon in the lobby and join a match. An older guide says up to eight players share a match.
- Find machines on the floor. A red light means it needs filling, and a green light means it is done.
- Press E at a machine and hit the skill check when the bar appears. Missing the zone makes noise and can attract Twisteds.
- Watch your surroundings. If a Twisted comes, stop extracting and run. On PC, the older guide says Shift sprints.
- When all machines are full, the elevator starts a countdown. Get back to it.
- Repeat on the next floor until you lose all your hearts.
Hearts depend on the Toon. The wiki-based roster shows three hearts on regular Toons and two on main characters.
The older guide also says even floors have a shop and odd floors have a team vote on upgrade cards. It suggests looking for extra health, extra elevator time and better vision during blackouts.
The two currencies you need to know
Tapes only matter during a run. You pick them up on the floor and spend them in Dandy's Shop. They reset each match, so spend them.
Ichor stays with you. Here is what pays it, according to the wiki-based list:
| Action | Ichor |
|---|---|
| Fill a machine | 5. In a group, you get 1 per 20% you contributed |
| Pick up a research capsule | 2 |
| Use a Toon's ability | 5, once per floor |
| Complete a floor | 5, or 6 from floor 15, paid only when you die |
| See a Twisted for the first time | 1, or 1.25 from floor 15, paid only when you die |
Two habits follow from this. Use your Toon's active ability once on every floor, since that is a free 5 Ichor if your Toon has one. And grab research capsules when it is safe, since they also build research.
Research and why it matters
Research is tracked for each Twisted. Capsules give 1% and finding a Twisted gives 5%, once per floor. Reaching 100% on a Twisted earns its Trinket, and some Toons need research to unlock. PCGamesN points to Pink Bow, earned from Twisted Poppy's research, as a good early target. It gives 7.5% more run speed.
What to buy first
| Item | Type | Ichor | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shrimpo | Toon | 100 | Cheapest, but last on the stat tier list |
| Coin Purse | Trinket | 200 | Start each run with 30 extra Tapes |
| Research Map | Trinket | 200 | Highlights research capsules every 10 seconds |
| Boxten | Toon | 250 | Price from one guide, see below |
| Tisha | Toon | 500 | |
| Cosmo | Toon | 1,000 | Also needs four owned Toons |
| Astro | Toon | 5,000 | Main character, long-term goal |
A good first plan is Coin Purse or Research Map. Coin Purse helps you buy useful items in every run, and Research Map speeds up your research and Ichor from capsules. Switchblade Gaming says both have no extra requirements.
The sources disagree on starters. The older guide says you begin by choosing Poppy or Boxten, while Switchblade lists Boxten at 250 Ichor. Look at what your own lobby offers before planning around this.
You can also claim the Blushy Bat Trinket by joining the BlushCrunch Studio community, according to Switchblade. It adds 3 seconds before a Twisted that hit you can attack again. It costs nothing, so it is worth doing first.
Choosing a Toon role
The wiki-based tier list scores Toons with a public formula, and it does not count abilities. Treat it as a stat comparison, not a final ranking.
- Extractors fill machines fast. They score on extraction speed and skill check.
- Distractors keep Twisteds busy. They score on movement speed and stamina.
As a new player, extracting is the simpler job. Fill machines, leave distracting to faster teammates, and read your Toon's page before you pick. An older guide suggests mixing fast and slow Toons on a team, and pairing slow Toons with mobility Trinkets.
Halloween event, ends soon
The wiki-based guide lists the 2026 Halloween event as running from October 2 to November 6. Pumpkins are the event currency, earned from floor pickups, machines and Trick or Treat Doors. Leftover Pumpkins vanish when the event ends, and they do not carry over. If you play now, spend them at Gourdy's Store before November 6. The event Toons are a long way off for new players. Gourdy, for example, is listed with 3,000 Pumpkins, 2,500 Ichor and 100% research on Twisted Gourdy.
Goals for your first week
The game's official badges give you simple targets to aim for:
- Complete 100 machines for Machine Enthusiast.
- Reach floor 10 for Double Digits, then floor 25 for Skilled Toon.
- Use 100 items for Item Finder.
Quick tips
- Point your camera so you can see what is coming while you extract.
- Do not stay at a machine to finish it if a Twisted is on you. You can come back.
- Spend Tapes each run, since they do not carry over.
- Do not spend real money early. Ichor sold for Robux starts at 75 Robux for 300 Ichor, and you can earn all of the items above by playing.
