Plants vs Brainrots Beginner Guide and Rebirth Tips

In Plants vs Brainrots, your plants defeat brainrots, the brainrots you collect earn you cash, and that cash buys stronger plants. Keep that loop going, and rebirth once you have the cash and brainrots it needs. The game now appears on Roblox as Plants & Brainrots, but it is the same game.
Most detailed guides for this game were written in 2025, and it has had many updates since. Numbers below are a useful guide, not a promise. Check the values in your own game.
How the game works
- Buy seeds from George, the seed seller.
- Equip a plant and click a space in your garden to place it.
- Your plants attack the brainrots coming down the conveyor belt.
- Defeated brainrots go to your hotbar. Place them on platforms in your base.
- Collect the cash they earn by jumping on their platforms.
- Buy better seeds, more plots, and more platforms, then repeat.
You cannot lose the game. If a brainrot gets past your plants, nothing ends, so feel free to experiment.
Your first few minutes
You start with $400, which the tutorial spends on your first seeds. Then do this:
- Redeem the codes. They include a free $5,000 and a Lucky Potion. See our Plants vs Brainrots codes guide for the full list.
- Put every brainrot you get on a platform. Empty platforms earn nothing. Since brainrots earn over time, higher-earning ones should get your platforms first.
- Collect your cash often. Your money sits on the platforms until you jump on them.
- Join the developer's group. That unlocks a Group Rewards tab in the Shop with extra items.
Buying seeds
George has limited stock, which refreshes about every four minutes and 40 seconds. Keep an eye on it, because better seeds are what move you forward. Seeds that are out of stock can be bought with Robux, but you do not need to do that.
Seeds and brainrots use the same rarity tiers: Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Godly, and Secret.
Rarer plants deal more damage and can have powerful effects. Mr Carrot and Carnivorous Plant have been named as top seeds, and Cocotank is another strong one. Older best-seed lists can go out of date quickly as new plants are added, so check the stats shown in your game. Pocket Gamer also names King Limone as one of the best plants.
If you want to move a plant, pick it up with the Shovel.
Placing your plants
Plants have Damage, Attack Speed, Range, and sometimes a mutation. You can only place a limited number per lane, so each space matters.
- Mix tanks and damage. Put your fast, high-damage plants behind cheap, sturdy tanks.
- Spread your damage. Using several plants across lanes helps against brainrots with lots of health, such as Godly and Secret ones.
- Replace weak plants. Once a plot is full, swap your weakest plant for something better.
- Value mutated plants. Gold, Diamond, and Neon mutations give plants a damage boost. A mutated damage plant is a strong early pickup.
Gear worth knowing
Joel runs the Gear shop, and most gear is always in stock. Gear can also be gifted to other players, but that costs Robux.
| Gear | What it does |
|---|---|
| Water Bucket | Speeds up plant growth by 25%, and is the cheapest gear |
| Banana Gun | Deals 100 damage, better than your starting bat |
| Frost Blower | Freezes brainrots and slows them by 50% |
| Frost Grenade | Slows down enemies, and one is free from a code |
| Carrot Launcher | Deals 500 damage and can fling other players |
Buy plants before gear if you are short on cash, since your plants do the work all the time.
Mutated brainrots earn more
Brainrots can have mutations too, usually from weather events: Gold, Diamond, Neon, and Frozen. These pay much more than normal ones. For example, Sportskeeda reports a normal Noobini Bananini earns $2 per second, while a Gold one earns $8. If your platforms are full, sell your lowest earners to make room.
Rebirth: when and why
Rebirth is the game's prestige system. Press the rebirth button on the left of the screen once you have the cash and the two required brainrots.
What you gain: The early rebirths each give +50% luck and +50% money, plus new bats, bigger islands, and new bosses. Your first rebirth also unlocks the Fuse Machine, which combines plants and brainrots to make rarer brainrots.
What you lose: Your cash goes to zero. Beebom also reports you lose boss levels and spawner upgrades. Guides disagree about your brainrots: some say you keep them, one says you keep only some, and another says you lose them all. Your plants, gears, and eggs are reported as safe. Read the rebirth screen before you confirm, and do not count on keeping your best brainrot.
These requirements were reported in late 2025 and may have changed:
| Rebirth | Cash | Brainrots needed |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $1 million | Alessio, Bambini Crostini |
| 2 | $50 million | Bananita Dophinita, Ballerina Cappuccina |
| 3 | $100 million | Aerilino Armadillo, Bombini Gussini |
| 4 | $150 million | Constructione Tralala, Giraffa Celeste |
| 5 | $300 million | Crazylone Pizaione, Los Tralaleritos |
| 6 | $300 million | Los Sekolitos, Meowzio Sushini |
Before you rebirth, keep the required brainrots rather than selling them. Your plants should also be strong enough to get income going again quickly from zero.
Bosses
Bosses are the rarest and strongest brainrots. Pocket Tactics reports that a boss appears every 500 brainrots you defeat, and beating them improves your spawn quality, spawner tier, and luck.
New bosses unlock through rebirths. Before any rebirth, you can face Hotspotini Burrito, reported at 20,000 health and $375 per second. Later bosses have far more health, so build up your damage before expecting to beat them.
Free items from events
Admin abuse events often happen around game updates and can give out free brainrots, gear, and rare plants. If an update is coming, join a little early. One guide says players can join an hour before the update.
Your order of goals
- Redeem codes and fill your first platforms.
- Buy the best seeds George has, and fill all your lanes.
- Unlock more plots and platforms.
- Beat your first boss.
- Save $1 million and the two required brainrots for Rebirth 1.
- Start using the Fuse Machine, then push for the next rebirth.
