Slap Battles Beginner Guide

October 30, 2026 · 5 min read

On this page

Start with the free Default glove, slap people to earn slaps, and unlock cheap gloves one at a time. Your first real goal is learning to stay on the arena, because chasing people over the edge can send you into the void too.

How the game works

Slap Battles on Roblox describes itself as a game about slapping people into oblivion using gloves with unique abilities. You earn slaps by slapping people, and you spend slaps to unlock new gloves. Some glove abilities are passive and work on their own. Others are activated when you press E. Mobile players get a button.

The game page also warns that exploiting or hacking leads to a permanent ban, so do not use scripts or macros.

Controls

Action PC Mobile
Slap Left click Slap button
Glove ability E Ability button
Move WASD Joystick
Jump Space Jump button
Shift lock Shift Not shown

The game page recommends shift lock. Test it near the middle of the arena before your first real fight. Some fully mastered gloves add an action on R, according to one fan guide, but not every glove has one.

Your first gloves

These prices come from a Roblox Den list last updated on June 16, 2026. That is more than four months old, and prices can change, so check the glove stand before you save up.

Glove Cost in slaps What it teaches you
Default 0 The basics
Diamond 15 Defense
Extended 25 Reach
ZZZZZZZ 25 Not described in our sources
Dual 40 Not described in our sources
Brick 65 Setting up attacks
Snow 85 Slowing opponents
Pull 125 Moving enemies and yourself
Flash 175 Fast movement

The "what it teaches" notes come from one fan guide, so read the glove's own description before you buy. We found no reliable tier list for new players, so this table is not a ranking. A sensible path:

  1. Play with Default until you can land slaps on purpose.
  2. Get Diamond or Extended, since both are cheap.
  3. Save for Snow, Pull or Flash once you know how the arena works.

Try each new glove for a few matches before you judge it. Do not rush from one glove to the next without learning what it does.

How to earn slaps

  • Slap other players. This is the official way to earn slaps, and every hit counts.
  • Knock people off the map. One fan guide says this earns more than small hits. We could not confirm this from a second source.
  • Keep playing. One fan guide says slaps stay on your account, so a loss does not undo your progress.
  • Watch for events. Limited-time events can add bonuses. A fan wiki lists a Halloween event running from October 23 to November 6, 2026. It is also a single source, so check in game.

Avoid arranged slap farming with other players, macros and AFK farms. Fan guides warn that these can lead to a ban.

Staying alive near the edge

The arena floats above a deadly void, so where you stand matters as much as your aim.

  • Stay near the center. You have more room to recover if you get hit.
  • Do not chase launched players. Following them can take you off the arena too.
  • Look at the ground. Watch your opponent and the safe path back, not your glove.
  • Slap once, then reset your footing. Move into range, land one hit and recover. Clicking wildly leaves you open.
  • Use E on purpose. Pressing your ability the moment it is ready wastes it, so learn your glove's cooldown first.
  • Jump to dodge. A well-timed jump can help you avoid a slap or knockback.

Picking a mode

Different portals and modes can change the gloves and rules, so do not panic if your controls or glove act differently in a new place. Fan guides list these options.

Mode What to expect
Normal Arena The standard fight and the best place to start
No One-Shots Removes gloves that can end you in one hit, going by its name, so it may be gentler for learning
Killstreak Only Going by its name, built around killstreaks
Slap Royale Be the last one standing on an island

The official badge list confirms that Slap Royale is won by being the last player standing, and that winning with 5, 10 or 15 kills earns extra badges.

Fun goals

Badges give you something to chase beyond slaps. Here are a few from the official list that a new player can try.

  • Savior. Save someone out of the goodness of your heart.
  • Plate Master. Stay on the plate for 10 minutes straight in a server with at least 7 people.
  • Orb of flight. Receive an airdrop from the slap-force-1.
  • Candy King. Collect 1000 candy corns. This is only available during Halloween, and candy corns do not spawn in VIP servers.

Stay safe

Join only the official game from the verified Slap Battles group. Ignore messages offering downloads, free gloves or account logins, because these are often scams. Never type your password into a site promising free gloves.

Common mistakes

  1. Chasing players toward the void.
  2. Watching your glove and not your surroundings.
  3. Spamming E.
  4. Equipping the newest glove without knowing what it does.
  5. Leaving shift lock off and then struggling to aim.
  6. Trusting a glove price, code or event date you saw somewhere else without checking it in game.

How up to date is this

The basics, the ban warning and the badges come directly from Roblox. Glove prices come from a June 2026 list, and the rest comes from fan guides dated August to October 2026. Slap Battles updates often, so what you see in game always comes first.
