Steal a Brainrot Beginner Guide to Income and Rebirth

To get started in Steal a Brainrot, buy cheap brainrots from the Red Carpet, replace them with better earners, lock your base whenever it is at risk, and rebirth once you meet the requirements. Stealing only starts to matter once you have some income and know where the good targets are.
Prices and timers change with updates, so trust the in-game number if it differs from anything below.
How the game works
Each server has up to 8 players, and each player has a base. Brainrots travel along a Red Carpet in the middle of the map. Each one shows its rarity, price and money per second.
- Buy a brainrot from the carpet. It walks to your base.
- It earns money for you every second.
- Use that money to buy better brainrots, or steal them from other bases.
- Rebirth to reset your progress in exchange for permanent boosts.
You start with very little, about $100 in recent guides, so your first purchases have to be cheap.
Your first purchases
- Start with the cheapest units. Noobini Pizzanini was reported at $25 for $1 per second in April 2026. It is fine for your first minutes.
- Move up quickly. The same guide suggests buying two Noobinis, then saving for Cloverat Clapat ($250, $8 per second). Compare money per second against price, and stop buying a unit once something much better is within reach.
- Stand by the carpet. Other players can buy the brainrot you were going for, so have spare cash and don't wander off while saving for a specific one.
- Sell weak units when you run out of slots. One older guide says selling returns half the price you paid. That makes it a good way to free a slot, but not a way to make money.
Protecting your base
Your base has a Lock Base button. While the lock is on, others can't get in. When it ends, your brainrots are open to thieves.
Guides disagree on the exact time. Reports range from 30 to 60 seconds at the start, and they agree that every rebirth adds 10 more. The countdown on your own screen is the one to trust.
To keep more of what you earn:
- Lock again as soon as the timer allows, especially if you own something valuable.
- Stay close to your best brainrots when the lock runs out.
- When a steal starts, you get an alert. Hit the thief with your bat or slap, because one successful hit sends your brainrot back to its slot.
- Don't go AFK with valuable brainrots on an open base.
- Be careful about who you give base access to. Friends who can get past your lasers can also steal from you.
How to steal without losing time
Carrying a stolen brainrot slows you down and lowers your jump, and you can't use gear while carrying it. The owner also gets an alert. Plan around all of that:
- Use your own lock time to scan other bases for high-value brainrots.
- Choose a target that is close to your base. A short route home matters more than anything else.
- Wait next to the gate until its lock runs out.
- Take one brainrot and run straight home.
- Lock your base when you get back, if the timer allows.
Aim for valuable units. Commons rarely justify the risk. Once a base's owner is watching you, try someone else or move to a new server, and one guide advises taking no more than 1-2 brainrots from any player per server.
The game's description also says you can buy slaps and troll gear, and these help with both attack and defense. Better gear unlocks through rebirths.
Rebirth: when and what you get
Rebirth is on a button on the left side of the screen. Click it to see the cash and brainrots you need, collect them, then click it again. It resets your cash and brainrots, so check that you meet every requirement first.
Here are the first levels, from a guide updated on October 27, 2026. Older guides list different cash amounts, so check the menu in your game.
| Rebirth | Cash | Brainrots required | Multiplier | Unlocks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $500K | Trippi Troppi, Gangster Footera | x1 | Iron Slap, Gravity Coil, Bee Launcher, Friend Controller |
| 2 | $1.5M | Brr Brr Patapim, Boneca Ambalabu | x2 | Gold Slap, Coil Combo, Rage Table |
| 3 | $12.5M | Trulimero Trulicina, Chimpanzini Bananini | x3 | Diamond Slap, Grapple Hook, Taser Gun |
| 4 | $35M | Chef Crabracadabra, Glorbo Fruttodrillo | x4 | Emerald Slap, Invisibility Cloak, Boogie Bomb |
| 5 | $100M | Frigo Camelo, Orangutini Ananassini | x5 | Ruby Slap, Medusa's Head |
Other rewards to plan around:
- Cash bonus: you restart with some money, such as $5K after Rebirth 1 and $10K after Rebirth 2.
- Lock time: +10 seconds on every rebirth.
- Slots: one extra slot per rebirth, starting at Rebirth 2.
- Floors: Rebirth 2 unlocks your second floor and Rebirth 10 your third.
Save the required brainrots as you find them, even if they are not your best earners, so you are not stuck hunting for one with the cash already in hand. Any brainrot still walking to your base when you rebirth goes back to the carpet, so don't buy one just before you reset.
Other systems to learn later
- Fuse Machine: it combines several brainrots into a new one, and costs cash and time. Guides disagree on how many it takes and what the odds are, so read the in-game screen before using your valuable units.
- Mutations: each brainrot can have one, and it multiplies income. Check for them when comparing units, because a mutated unit can out-earn a higher-rarity one.
- Index: one guide reports that completing Index goals gives a permanent income boost, so it is worth a look.
- Events: events can change what spawns on the carpet. Stay near it when one starts.
Common mistakes
- Holding on to the cheapest units for too long.
- Going far from your base just as your lock is about to end.
- Stealing Commons when a better target is nearby.
- Rebirthing without having checked the requirements.
- Trading with strangers who promise to pay you after you send first.
- Spending Robux on boosts before you understand the game. Learn the basics first.
Avoid scripts and exploits, and don't buy brainrots from outside sellers. They can get your account banned or stolen.
