Steal An Egg Best Pets and Biome Progression Route

The best pet for you is the highest earner you can carry home reliably, not the top name on a chart. While you are climbing, use fast-growing eggs for income and Speed. Once your pen is earning well, keep long-growing eggs running in the background.
Every number here comes from community wiki data or outlet tier lists, not from the developer. The game has only been out since July 2026 and changes often, so trust the in-game Index when it disagrees.
Who says which pet is best
No two lists agree, partly because they were written at different times.
| Source | Date | Top pick | How it ranks |
|---|---|---|---|
| RBLXGUIDE game hub | Synced Oct 24 | Spirit World Guardian, $15B/s | Base income |
| RBLXGUIDE pet ranking | Oct 11 | Skeletal Sabertooth, $9B/s | Base income, without Enchanted Forest pets |
| Beebom tier list | Oct 23 | Spirit World Guardian listed first | Income bands, S tier is $1B/s or more |
| GameRant tier list | Sep 9 | Shattered Colossus, $3.5B/s | Income |
Treat these as snapshots. Kitsune shows the problem well: RBLXGUIDE lists it at $1.8B/s, while GameRant lists it at $3.2B/s. Pet counts differ too, with 198, 235 and 265 all reported. Open the pet in your own Index before you plan around it.
Also read the source of a pet, not just its income. RBLXGUIDE found that only 8 of its top 25 come from biome nests. Most of the others come from special eggs, events or the Rift. Guides say you can progress without paid eggs, so don't treat the top of the chart as a goal you must reach.
Pets to chase in the later biomes
These are the top nest pets in the later zones, next to a faster option for building income. All figures are base income from RBLXGUIDE, so size and mutations will change them.
| Biome | Speed needed | Long-term target | Quick egg (5 minutes or less) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Abyss Ocean | 2.5M | El Maja, $130M/s | Shark, $15K/s |
| Prehistoric | 18M | Mosasaurus, $180M/s | Ankylosaurus, $120K/s |
| Cosmic | 700M | Unicorn, $1B/s | Cosmic Gecko, $30K/s |
| Cherry Blossom | 2.5B | Kitsune, $1.8B/s | Salamander, $74K/s |
| Titan Temple | 7B | Nightflame, $3B/s | Spideron, $95K/s |
| Angels & Demons | 20B | Aetheron, $6.9B/s | Grow times mostly not listed |
| Enchanted Forest | 50B | Spirit World Guardian, $15B/s | Not documented yet |
The gap between the two columns is huge, and so is the wait. Kitsune reportedly takes 12 hours to grow, Nightflame 16 hours and Aetheron 18 hours.
A simple routine works well:
- Fill most of your pen with the best quick eggs you can carry.
- Before you log off, put your long-growing eggs in. They keep your pen useful while you are away.
- When a long egg hatches, replace your weakest earner.
Getting past the Cosmic wall
Most biome steps ask for about 2.5 to 11 times more Speed than the last one. Prehistoric to Cosmic asks for almost 39 times more, going from 18M to 700M. Expect to stay in Prehistoric for a while, and use that time to build income.
Hatch rewards help more than you might expect. An Ankylosaurus reportedly pays +330K Speed and $12M, and takes 5 minutes. El Maja pays +180K Speed but takes 5 hours 30 minutes. For pure Speed, quick eggs are often better per minute of waiting.
Treadmills and trails should be bought as a pair, because a trail multiplies what the treadmill gives. These are RBLXGUIDE's estimates using simple multiplication.
| Treadmill | Price | Trail | Price | Speed per step |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Golden | $120M | Golden | $30M | +280 |
| The Freeze | $3B | Red | $750M | +400 |
| Lucky Block | $75B | Galaxy | $20B | +1,000 |
| Hacker | $3T | Secret | $500B | +3,500 |
| Demonic | $50T | Eternal | $12.5T | +10,000 |
Notice that each trail costs far less than its matching treadmill. Going from The Freeze with a Red Trail to The Freeze with a Galaxy Trail lifts you from about +400 to +500 for $20B, while the Lucky Block Treadmill alone costs $75B. Check what your next purchase adds before you buy it.
Keep or replace: compare the full multiplier
A pet's income is its base income times its color mutation times its size multiplier. Size is the part people overlook. The community wiki's formula is labeled as beta, so treat the table as an estimate.
| Weight compared to base | Size multiplier | With Golden | With Rainbow |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10x | 4.14x | 10.3x | 14.5x |
| 50x | 11.2x | 27.9x | 39.1x |
| 100x | 17.1x | 42.8x | 59.9x |
| 200x | 23.7x | 59.2x | 82.9x |
What this means for your pen:
- A heavy plain pet can beat a light Rainbow. About 7.6 times the base weight already matches Rainbow's 3.5x.
- Good rolls can beat a better base. A Rainbow King Snake at 100x weight is estimated at $210M/s, which beats a plain Mosasaurus at $180M/s. Look at the final number on each pet before you remove one.
- Gains slow down past 125x weight. Bigger pets still earn more, but each extra kg adds less.
Use mutation items on your best egg
Only Rainbow, Golden and Silver come from normal hatch rolls, with reported weights of 1, 4 and 6 out of 100. So most hatches have no color at all.
Fractured and Scrambled are applied to an egg with a reported 10% success chance. Because a mutation multiplies base income, save these items for the egg of your highest-earning pet. Fractured and Scrambled are both listed at 2.75x. Update notes also mention Enchanted and Nitro mutations, but their multipliers have not been published, so don't plan around a number you see for them.
Choosing a mount
Mounting a pet uses one Shooting Star and cannot be undone, according to reports on the Update 8 notes. The Stellaris shop reportedly limits you to 5 stars a week, and the night sky event is rare. Mount stats were not documented when we checked, so nobody can yet say which pet makes the best mount. Avoid using a star on a pet you expect to replace soon. Wait for your in-game details or official notes before spending several.
